Dxwnd Heroes 4
I'll post this as a solution to the problem, cause barely anywhere can be found and I feel it is a good idea to write it here. The problem is simple: If you have a Windows physical copy of HoMM2 it probably won't work in Windows 10. The solution: First you need to have the game instaled.
Then you must download DxWnd from SourceForge.net, this programs helps you play old games and may be a solution in other cases (Take for instance HoMM1 which can be played but freezes when you make it fullscreen) Once you download it (I recommend it to move it to a folder other than the Download one so you don't delete it by mistake), you run it (the.exe). Then you click in 'edit'->'add'. Then, in the new window that appears, where it says 'Path', you add the path of the game executable (the default path is: C: Program Files (x86) 3DO Heroes II Gold HEROES2W.EXE) After that, you unmark the option 'Run in Window'. Then you go to the 'Video' tab and there, in the lower right corner you choose 'SVGA modes' and where it is written '600' x '800' you write '1280' x '1024' and choose the option at the left 'Initial Resolution' Finnaly at the left, in the options 'Window handling' you mark ONLY 'Force win resize' and then click OK to close the window. You should now see a list with only one thing (if it is the firs time you use this program) which says 'HEROES2W.EXE' and a green circle next to it.
Double click it to try it now. If everything works OK, just remember to save before closing 'File'->'Save', you'll be reminded if you haven't saved before closing. Now, every time you wanna play you have to initiate DxWnd and double-clic in 'Heroes2W.EXE' so it's a good idea to turn the HoMM2 shorcut into a shorcut to DxWnd. That's all, hope that helps you as it helped me. Basic source: (I don't understand what he says in the video anyway) I did make some experimentation to get it to work propperly. I use the HoMM collection published by Ubisoft.
Sorry if there is any grammar mistake, i'm not a native english speaker and I'm not quite good at explanations in any language. I know, and I also know that version works with DosBox. Depending on the computer, fullscreen may or may not work properly in DosBox. Anyway, if it doesn't work, just need to go to the DosBox executable, right clic, properties, compatibility and select something like Windows XP. Trial and error is a good way of finding solutions. I remember that I only could play TES: Arena and Daggerfall or Theme Hospital in window mode until I did that.
PD: I love GOG too much, they have versions of games that work better than any other and I like their policies about DRM and all that. Edit 1: Morrowind? Morrowind doesn't work with DosBox. It's for Windows. Maybe yours work fine but with a bad aspect-ratio (4:3 streched to fit in 16:9) For Morrowind there are some useful mods. I remember one that makes the game get a resolution of 1080p (no textures changes, just the same but for bigger screens) and one that made the letters in books more readable and bigger (it was horrible to read in my screen) Anyway, I've got Morrowind (both the Steam Version and the DVD version) and they work in W10 fullscreen with no problems (apart from a shity resolution which makes things look horrible).
