Novell Edirectory Evaluation License
I am confused about the way eDirectory license works. We have an eDirectory evaluation installation. Now, when we buy the paid license, what do we do with the new license files? I had posted earlier, also I browsed through old posts. I found many suggestions for the ways to upgrade license. Like, 1st suggestion: Use iManage License manager (novell licensing services) ->I installed it, but it seems that it works only for Neteare servers.
It gave me this error. ----------- snip ------------- License Management services are not responding. This could be due to one of the following: * iManager queried every NetWare server in the directory and could not find a version of nlsadapt.nlm that supports License Management. This could happen because nlsadapt.nlm is not loaded on a server, the server running the NLM is not available, or iManager is connected to a tree where all versions of the server are older than 6.0.
* iManager found a server with a version of nlsadapt.nlm that supports License Management, but was unable to communicate with nlsadapt.nlm due to issues with NCP. ----------- snip ------------- 2nd suggestion: Remove /var/novell/nici/* and copy your license file there.
Then run primenici ->I did this and it seemed to have worked. I dont know the reliability of this approach. What is the published solution by novell? I am really surprised that this is not in Novell documentation. I am totally confused:(. Lwm, It appears that in the past few days you have not received a response to your posting. Mar 21, 2017 - Select Install. The installation program checks for the following components before it installs eDirectory: You can obtain an evaluation license file from. □ Novell Client for Windows NT/2000/XP. □ Novell Licensing. If a component is missing.
Your Novell Product Support Forums Team http://support.novell.com/forums/. You do nothing. After much canvassing and talking to Novell engineers, the license is a paper one. There is no effective difference between the eval license and the paid license, and in fact the license is used only to prime NICI, not eDirectory core.
In fact in eDirectory 8.8 install, you won't even be prompted for a license. -- Michael J. I am trying to replicate users between trees, how do i configure the driver so that it points at the other tree? If i have two trees that are NOT identical what setting do i use: Flat, Mirrored or Department?
